what's up with all the hate?

I really dont understand i tought this is gonna be plain awful because of the critics but instead i just find a pretty decent super hero movie ¿is the best super hero movie? certailny not, but is far from be Green lantern, spawn, Ghost rider, Suicide squad, even when most people are putting in the same level

This movie have the hero sacrifice, WW is cold and distant in the begining because is still hurt for the dead of Steve but that only show how big her sacrifice is went she have to renounce to her boyfriend, we also have a set of adversary's wich motivation is very human beyond all thing of control the world are just human beings, victims of there own weakness i can understand his motivations the fail bussinessman who want to be more, the rejected person who want to be accepted. the end of the movie doesn't get a resolution with wonder woman fighthing to dead with someone but people taking responsability and letting go things that can't be o they dind't achive by merits

When people complaint about Minerva wishing become Cheeath i see than more than looks she want to be strong and powerful to never be put down again so for me that wish have sense the special effect is not very good but dind't ruin the movie for me, also some people complaining about how the movie present men's in general first at all everybody is thirsty about Minerva because that is what she wish for, she want the attention and she receive that from men and woman and the way Dayana is treated in the gala well a woman like that with a dress like that are going to recieve a lot of attenttion that is not unrealistic and i dind't see nothing really wrong everybody was respectful just want to talk to her nothing more, and to close my case you have Steve wich is the second hero of the movie is not a comic relieve is really capable and save Dayana in more of one ocasion and is a really heroic character this is far from "Ghostbuster 2016" were every male was a object or a plain villain and it was far from be "Young promising women" a movie that really have a very negative despiction on men in general and is receiving a lot of praise.

The acting is good can be better but is ok for a superhero movie a genre with very few outstanding performance just the actor's who have play the diferent version of the Joker come to mind

WW powers i have read also about the complaints about the powers of WW and how the movie uses them, the thing is that is a common problem with movies adaptation in general normally the powers are changed to adjust to a restraint media like is cinema when the director and wrtter only have 2 hours to tell his history the powers were well use I dind't want to see a invisible plaine at dispossal of Wonder Woman that wouldnt have work very well in a movie they used that element just once and i think they did right instead they give her the power of flying wich i think works better aesthetically and have more sense in a movie

Im not a WW comic character fan so i dont know her mythos I just really enjoy this movie i understand his flaws but i definitly think dont desever all the hate is receiving this is not Ghostbuster 2016 or any of the movies i mention in the begining

What you think im being too soft? is something that i miss that was really that awful? if it so let me know because i felt a little confuse with all the hate

What's up with all the love?

After finally seeing Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in this film, I'm baffled by all the praise heaped on her in the first film. If its accurate, her performance and on-screen personality must have been 10X better than it is in WW84. The weakest character in WW84 was Wonder Woman herself. Gadot's heavy Israeli accent coming out of Wonder Woman's mouth is weird, and her scenes are pretty bland and boring.

It doesn't deserve 'hate' But it's not as good as the first, I'll agree there. Wasted scripting/plot. Could have been the blockbuster which rescues America/world during the pandemic. Shame. I doubt Jenkins is being trusted with the 3rd IF it's getting made.

Accent doesn't matter--she's supposed to be from Paradise Island.

reply

Didn't you hear? She's still attached as director.

reply

it can still be changed. There was supposed to be a separate x men movie for gambit--but that was never produced bc Disney bought out the studio which was going to make it.

reply

Shame, I did want it to happen.

reply

Yeah I did too. Gambit's my favirote x-man. IF the third goes through and Jenkins is still attached, I think the studio is going to give her much less creative control. And there will be much less tie in attached this time around. Essentially the retooling studios had to do with the Batman franchise after Batman Forever and Batmn and Robin.

reply

Yeah I can't stand her accent. She's mediocre at best as an actress and mostly gets by on her looks and moderate charm. This is one of the worst super hero movies I've ever seen.

reply

I didn't even realize that Gal Gadot spoke with a heavy accent and used broken English until I saw this film. I knew the actress was Israeli, but so is Natalie Portman, and she can effortlessly "Americanize" her voice. As for Wonder Woman being from a fantasy world, an Amazon from "Paradise Island" or whatever, that's no excuse for the jarring Israeli accent. It's like saying Aslan the Lion is from Narnia, so it would be perfectly fine if they cast an actor who said all his dialogue in a heavy Korean accent. That would be just plain weird, and so is this.

reply

IM OKAY WITH HER ACCENT...ITS LIKE SCHWARZENEGGER...WHAT BOTHERS ME IS HER MEDIOCRE ACTING ABILITIES.

reply

Yeah, her flat and lifeless acting made it much worse. She did attempt to show some emotional range and "sell" the scene, but only during the climax of the film. The first 2/3rds, she was a non-entity on screen.

reply

I don't care re her accent---people keep forgetting that Diana was never from America. Hello. She is from an island somewhere. She's not supposed to be American or sound like it. The bad script is the problem.

reply

The hate comes from the movie being garbage. It is a steaming pile of dogshit and that is an insult to steaming piles of Dogshit.

If you ever want to see a movie that does everything wrong, this is it.

reply

No idea. I loved it and thought it was great. It wasn't until a few days after I saw it that I realized it wasn't doing well with audiences, and I was shocked. I thought it was fantastic. It seems to me, though, that even though people complain when the finale of a superhero movie is "a CGI hero fighting a CGI monster," they complain even louder when it's not. I thought this movie presented a good lesson ("Appreciate what you have while you have it," and "you can't cheat to get ahead, because it's just a lie") through layered story plots with three characters.
Sure, it wasn't perfect, but I thought it was fantastic.

reply

I didn't hate the movie but I did have major problems with it.

My issues were with the storylines and the actors themselves.

Its been 66 years since Steve died yet Diana is STILL moping about him. In 66 years she didn't have any daliances of any kind or form emotional bonds with ANYONE?

Minverva's only wish was to be pretty and likable like Diana. Great feminist message, look nice and have people wanting to hump you is the only way to be powerful or accomplished. The CGI was terrible for her. She is one of the few characters that is meant to be a physical match for Diana yet I didn't feel she was a real threat. In the comics her claws are one of the few things that can cut Diana which is why she needed the special armour yet it was wholly pointless here.

reply

Her basically raping that guy her bf possessed, shitty cgi for cheetah made her look like a reject from Cats, pulling an invisibility cloaking power out of her ass, Maxwell Lord being an OrAnGe MaN BaD villain etc

This movie was shit. I did enjoy the first one though and JL(Snyder Cut)

reply

If Cheetah actually did something to the world in the film after changing--and Max had been her secretary, then it would have been a good film. They can't figure out what to do with her though and largely have Barbara stand around. I went in expecting wonder woman would fight cheetah was disappointed. Agree the armor was stupid. She had not needed it during WWI when people were using guns, so why did she need it now?

reply

It wasn't what I'd call a good movie, but it had some fun parts and for a comic book, it served its purpose.
