Wonder Woman 1984

Ok, so I finally got around to watching this.

The idea for the creators and writers to use a magical wish rock as the main plot as an excuse to bring back Trevor, and create two antagonists was not the most creative method for a sequel. This almost felt like it was targeted more for children than for general audiences which was an extreme opposition to the majority of DC films with the exception of Shazam.

Personally, I would have used almost any other historical time period for the film except the 80’s which is one of the least appealing decades. Excellent performances by everyone especially the leads, however, their character roles were under developed and unbalanced by providing too much for one and not enough for the other(s). The film was not a complete disappointment as there were some moments of entertainment but not enough to place this film in the successful category.

Yes, there were several far-fetched and extremely implausible events, however, this film is part of the fantasy genre and based on a comic book. Prior to watching it, I didn’t have any expectations and was not expecting it to compete with the first one, and with that said, no regrets.

My Rating: 6.5/10
