most disappointing superhero sequel?

is there a more disappointing superhero (first) sequel than WW84?

Superman II? No way.. Batman Returns? No..Blade 2? No...X2? lol... Spiderman 2? No... Amazing SM2? No.. TDK? phaha... Cap America TWS? No..

Thor TDW? Maybe... Ironman 2? idk ... Avengers Ultron? kinda.. Birds of Prey? Isn't really the sequel to SS

reply

That title goes to The Matrix 2.

reply

Not sure if it goes in superhero category.

reply

Fly: check.

Super Power: check.

Secret Identity(in first one): check.

Purpose: Save Humans: check.

What more do you want?

reply

Imaginary world that doesn't exist?

Neo has "powers" only in the Matrix.

So, no not a superhero.

I can login right now in an online game that gives me all those powers and more. That doesn't make me a superhero ...

reply

Didn't you see The Matrix 2 and 3 (I don't blame you for not remember)?

Neo has "powers" outside The Matrix too.

reply

Seen but don't remember his powers outside the matrix ... can you refresh my memory?

reply

He can stops robots outside The Matrix.

Just read about it and apparently there are 2 possible explanations:

1. The plug in his neck acts as a wireless device so he is connected to the singularity (so he is mainly just a hacker with a wireless device)

2. After meeting the Architect he doesn't return to the real world but to another copy - and this is an interesting theory.

3. Matrix has layers and we only seen 2. And the second layer is not the real world. The Matrix 4: Matception, directed by C Nolan :D
"Escape the matrix? We'll just create six layers over the real world. Escape that!!"

reply

Ackchually...
The Matrix 4 is directed by not C Nolan but by the Wachowskis.

Lol just joking. The Matrix never had any sequels. Bet I had ya in the first half, eh?

reply

The Crow 2: Wicked Prayer

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 FTW!

reply

Thing is the 1st ASM wasn't considered that great so as a result maybe 2 wasnt that disappointing (in fact it was probably considered better than 1 lol) ..whereas with WW everyone seemed to love WW1 but not WW84

reply

really?... I thought ASM2 sucked a**... WW84 was waaay better.. I didn't think too much of the 'handsome man' fiasco until it started getting a lot of flak

reply

SpiderMan 3 from SamRami was a huge disappointment to many people.

reply

In found it a big letdown after SM2, which was easily my favourite.

reply

Only sequel worse than this was Amazing SpiderMan 2

reply

I'm disappointed that there are superhero sequels.

reply

Iron Man 2 was the biggest drop-off in quality from the original.

reply

It was definitely disappointing but at least it told a coherent story!

reply

Iron Man 2 was pretty much disappointing.

reply

WW84 and it isn't close. Liked WW and Gal Gadot. This movie was long, boring, at times incoherent, and somehow Gal just wasn't mesmerizing anymore.

reply

I haven't seen the first one, but if she was "mesmerizing" in the first one, her acting abilities must have really tanked in the second, because she came across as bland and flat, and she had no charisma with Chris Pine (which really hurt the movie because he wasn't supposed to merely be her boyfriend, but her long lost soulmate) Also, Wonder Woman speaking with Gal Gadot's natural Israeli accent was just awkward and weird. It would be like if they cast David Tennant as Dick Tracy and he did the role using his natural Scottish accent for the entire movie.

reply

Batman and Robin is still the worst. This had holes but it wasn't cartoony.

reply

Batman and Robin was at least intentionally cartoony, a callback to an earlier time even.

WW84 failed to do a number of things it tried to do.
