Men took a hit on this one...

I hate to be that guy, but I admit with a woman director I unfairly put the burden on Jenkins to use her perspective and the female lead to convey some sort of profound message about women and how they are portrayed. Other than outlandish ending set pieces (which from what I have read the studios force upon her) she really came through beautifully in WW1 managing to address heavy, issues even within the framework of a comic book movie.

But this... was outright ridiculous. The women, the men, how they interacted. This is not a fringe genre anymore these movies are winning Oscars now - ironically particularly the DC properties. Its true: why can't she also just make a fun popcorn movie? That's fair, but she set expectations so high with the first movie, WW was supposed to be the DC savior.

I was trying to remember who the sympathetic male characters were in this film and only came up with: the old homeless guy, Steve Trevor, and the unnamed man who Steve possesses.

Joker and Nolan's Batman have absolutely no relation with this piece of trash, nor with the Snyder films, nor Aquaman, etc... these movies are not winning any Oscars.

I agree it was trash though... WW84 is a 4/10.

She had less freedom in the first movie. In this one she had more freedom, and she created a mess. I hope that,if she does a third one,she will be too busy with her Star Wars movie to take care of the story, and she leaves the story to someone else, and she only takes care of the directing. That would be good.

Maybe. But in my opinion the endings were the worst part of both movies. And that was the studios not her. But yes, this writing team did not get it done.
