Had some good parts but all in all pretentious and poorly executed

Yep, it could have been so much better. The first act of the movie needed to be shortened and the character of Josephina cut completely.

The idea of a bunch of pretentious people form the Arts domain becoming crazy over the paintings of an unknown artist was great to begin with. They could have left out the supernatural and just have them kill each other over ownership of the paintings.

I agree. It took nearly 45 minutes just for something to actually happen in this movie, and then it dragged on some more before getting going again. The first act just dragged on way too long, which took me out of the movie. I also thought there were way too many characters, and a few of them could have been ditched for the betterment of the film.
