Ending help (slight spoiler)

I'd love to hear people's opinions on the
last scene with the fork.
They made it a point in an earlier scene to show that Walter moved the pen on Heidi's desk at Homecoming at an angle.

I think the interpretation here is: the fact that he couldn't leave the fork alone and also placed it at an angle indicated to her that the Walter she knew was still in there somewhere, and there was hope for rekindling their relationship. I think that one little thing gave her the push she needed to stick around.

I agree. I think she struck out on this "first date," but she's going to find excuses to stick around town in a romantic-stalker kind of way and keep running into him to rekindle the old flame, if possible.

My main doubt is that in going through therapy with her, they had a lot of personal chats and hence grew close. It wasn't instant romance. He might warm up to her again, or he might view her as an eccentric old lady. Should she show him his own map (which he should remember), or would that scare him away? (But I sure am not waiting a whole extra season to find out, if there is a season 2.)

Roberts isn't coming back for season 2 - so I suspect we might see this story from a different angle - or perhaps continuation of the whole thing but with other entities in play (homecoming facility reopens?)

Thanks for that link

I think Heidi only came to make sure that Walter was okay. She was not planning to stay because she realized that would not be good for Walter.

"If they give you ruled paper, write the other way."

This probably means that Walter has a rebellious nature which is always somewhere deep inside and someday could very well rise.
