It is awesome, especially once Cage cuts loose after the first hour and gets his battle-axe...

But he barely did anything cool with the axe. I was disapointed.

1) He fights and beheads the biker with the axe
2) He force feeds it to Brothers Swan
3) He throws it into Brother Hanker's head while he's cleaning his car
4) He beheads Mother Marlene (offscreen)

Yeah, it does. Too bad it isn't. On paper, it's a masterpiece. On screen, it's dull as a broken pencil. So disappointed.

I do think it is a masterpiece. One of Cage's best performances and Cosmatos is pure genius. Cosmatos's previous movie, "Beyond the black Rainbow" had so many pieces of genius, but they just weren't connected in a coherent way. Mandy, on the other hand, brings the pieces of genius together and at the end, my mind was blown. I can't wait to see what he comes up with next and would love to see Cage involved. BTW, if you haven't seen Cage in "Color out of Space", I thought that was another great Cage movie.
