Really surprised this won. I thought it was AVERAGE AT BEST

I didn't feel moved by this. I felt like it was reverse racism. A black man teaching a white man how to behave. Had that been reversed, it would have been viewed as hateful.

This movie felt like a hallmark card.

Nah, the movie was balanced -- it showed plenty of poor, inarticulate blacks and vice versa. The message was to base your perceptions on the individual rather than ignorant generalizations.
