It combined the two most sacred themes of modern Hollywood. It was about a gay black man. The people behind other movies might as well have just stayed home.

So you prefer only movies about straight white people to win? Shouldn’t people be allowed to see stars who look like them? And shouldn’t those stars if they give a good performance get accolades?

That's not what he's saying, Bohemian Rhapsody and The Favourite should have both won over Green Book which was a good movie but not the best option, but because it centered around those two topics, which is what Hollywood loves to use to be like see! see! we are the good guys and everyone else is bad, it won. It was not a bad movie but should not have won it was just a statement

For me I just think this year had a poor selection for Best Picture. For me not cause of those themes just I didn't think the film was really that great. Any other year this wouldn't have won.
