I'm still trying to sort this out. It was so cool to see the puppets in action again. Such a fun fantasy world.

At the same time, by the last few episodes I was bored and not following the dumb story at all.

I guess a show needs more than cool puppets.

I agree. Lots of lavish production but pretty stale story. Lacks the original vision of Jim Henson. This is just lots of stuff crammed together. Swooping camera movement, attempts at visual splendor, heavy handed scoring, unnecessary backstory, forced emotions. There’s something to be said for Henson’s pared down, discrete style. I heard he originally tried to make DC without any English dialogue

agreed. another tv show that would have made an awesome movie. the story was just not exciting enough to be stretched over 8 hours.

I was only bored during the Skeksis storylines. I quite enjoyed seeing the storylines involving the Gelflings. It’s a great series.

I enjoyed the production. The story lacked legs though and I'm noticing this with about 60% of Netflix's original series programmes in general. "Warrior Nun" was abysmally stale

I didn't find it boring. It was spectacularly gorgeous but I was not entirely connecting with it till Aughra did her dance of invocation in, maybe, the third episode. That was about the most believable folk magic I ever saw in a fantasy film.

I felt the same way and lost interest. I think this property revival hasn't been as great as they had hoped.
