America still considers itself as the whole ‘world’ to this day.

Super Bowl champions call themselves ‘World Champions’ even though only American teams participate.

The ‘World Series’ is contested by American baseball teams.

Etc etc.

reply

Well, not the whole world, but the part that counts. If you don't like it, you're welcome to be somewhere else. We won't miss you.

reply

America is great for visiting, no chance i’d live there thanks.

reply

Why do you assume he's in the USA? How American of you... The irony.

reply

He didnt have to assume , Liscarkat told him as much in his/her reply

reply

Replies come *after* you make a comment

*facepalm

reply

yes , and in other news
"Night follows day"
whats your point?

reply

First replier assumed OP is American first and OP confirmed it *later*. Are you stupid or something?

reply

ok , my bad , i thoutht we were debating wether the replier was in Us not the OP

I still dont think the replier assumed the OP was in America,
even thogh he "said welcome to not be here"

it could be translated as
"feel free to not come"

reply

''don't like it then go'' - that's childishness and retarded

reply

I like America. Specifically Minnesota. Don't know why you'd want to live anywhere else.

Superbowl Champions call themselves Superbowl champions. Even if they did call themselves world champion, it still fits, because American style football is really only played in America.

reply

Look at the rings. ‘World Champions’

reply

That's silly! Like most Americans, I know that besides our great nation, there is a land called Canada up at the north pole, some little island called Yurrip in the ocean somewhere (Sorry, geometry isn't my forte. Neither is language, for that matter, because I don't even know what forte means), and I believe there is a new nation that formed recently called Chi-Nuh. I think you can find that one deep underground in caves somewhere.

So there! Keep your incorrect, negative assumptions about Americans to yourself.

reply

I can tell that you are an intellect going by the inventive response.

Great work.

reply

Thank you, kind sir. Finally, someone else agrees with what my dear, sweet mama always is saying. I can assume then that the rest of the stuff she says about me is also true. So all you ladies of Moviechat, if you’re looking for a stunningly handsome gentleman with impeccable manners who is finally divorced and now available, what are you waiting for?

reply

LOL
Nice work, you post some real funny stuff😁

reply

Thanks, I’ve always enjoyed reading your posts as well.

reply

It's "Canaduh".

reply

What a completely unprovoked thinly veiled passive aggressive american bashing post!

What sort of behavior is that for a public movie forum?
Does your mom know you act like this in public?

reply

I don’t think it was thinly veiled. I thought it was obvious.

But now that Trump is out i’m gonna’ give the USA another chance.

reply

Um not really.

The Super Bowl Championship never emphasized itself as a Global Championship. I don't know where you're getting that idea from.

As for the World Series, I can agree that the title itself if rather ostentatious even though technically Major League Baseball recruits baseball players from Asia, South Asia, Africa, Latin America and even Europe, but it doesn't compete with global teams.

reply

Yes really. You have proof in this link that every Super Bowl ring says World Champions.

reply

The World Series also includes Canada, to be accurate. I guess they could also fly teams in from Japan. Baseball isn't really popular anywhere else.

reply

Butt hurt.

reply

I wondered this growing up as well. It was explained to me that the best players in the world come to the U.S. to compete in our leagues. If that is the case, then I doubt MLS calls themselves world champions, lol.

reply

It’s funny because the USA literally have a team that has won the World Cup, the women's football team.
They can say they are the world champions, but people don’t seem to care.
