Amazon wants $20 for a rental

I wonder how much they are hurting themselves with this. I could see up to like 12-13 dollars at most. I know they are trying to make up for theater losses but more reasonable rentals would probably get more buys. Once you hit the $20 mark I start expecting to own it, not just rent it.

When prices reach that point, you go shopping at the torrent store. I understand their desire to reduce the dent covid-19 has made in their profits but let's face it - the movie industry is doing okay and will survive, unlike too many small businesses. By the end of the summer (maybe sooner) theaters will be back near full attendance again. They can afford to be more reasonable with their rentals.

Pretty steep for a movie that bombed in theaters. I know, COVID, but Wonder Woman was able to make over 140 million in the same timeframe, so why couldn't a movie starring the legendary Thomas Hanks crack 10 million when there was virtually no competition?

I can't think of a movie that I would pay even $5 to rent.
