The reason I love The Book Club...

...has very little to do with the story line. It does my heart some good to know that some of the great actors I grew up watching can still hold their own against twentysomething Hollywood and the overgrown CW teens who've tried to take them over. Hate all you want on TBC, but these were and are some great actors, age spots, turtlenecks and all. Just because this film is not from a comic universe, or an epic level of grandeur is not on them. I doubt they set out to sweep the Oscars. But it's heartening to know that some actors don't NEED super powers and CGI. They ARE the box office draw.
