This is the second movie now where he has black people beating the hell out of and killing annoying white people. In Get Out it happens at the end of the movie where it seemed to me when I saw it that he took extra pleasure in that scene and wanted the audience to as well. It was hard to say for sure though because it's something you could argue that the story demanded.

But now here it is again in US with an annoying white couple and their two annoying white daughters. The black protagonists get to beat the hell out of and kill the whole annoying white family. To be fair they are clones of the white family but I think the purpose is the same. They are fodder for liberal whites and blacks to take pleasure in seeing be beaten and killed. You could never reverse the races in those scenes and not be called a racist filmmaker.

I don't know anything about his comedy show but Id be curious to see if it had similar themes as well, and it'll be interesting to see if it recurs again in his next movie.

But the black family were trying to kill their clones as well. If I remember correctly, the black father even managed to mince his evil clone with the speedboat propellors.

Its not done for laughs though or to take pleasure in. A hands on beating to death gets a different response than being run over by a boat or hit by a car.

There's some stuff id like to add so I'll just post it here since you're near the top.

This is a black director that makes movies that are about race and racism.

Who said recently he will never cast a white actor as a lead.

Who cast the actress from 12 Years a Slave, an actor from Black Panther who played a character that doesn't like white people, a white actress who is known for her left wing politics....

All his white characters are dislikable. You're even suppose to laugh at one scene where the white mom character is murdered. Also there's another white male character than gets murdered by the girl black character after he's being an annoying white neighbor.

I dont say him having white characters beaten and killed by blacks is a definite pattern, but its the beginning of one. And you have to look at it in the context of everything else I mentioned above. We'll have to see if it continues.

That's kind of normal. In every ethnic groups, when there's a conflict between one member of that group and a foreigner one, the one that belongs to the group will beat the foreigner one.

In (old) American movie, the American guy used to beat the hell out of non-American guys. Muslim movies? the Muslim guy beats the non-Muslim ones. Chinese movies? the Chinese one beats the the hell out of non-Chinese ones (though usually non-Chinese play neutral non-antagonist characters, but if there's a conflict, the Chinese guy wins). Russian movies? The Russian guys win. And so on.

Black movies? the black guys beat the foreign guys.

Actually, modern Western movies are the only ones where the very same ethnic group that makes them like to appear as the evil and beaten ones...

Yeah but so what, there are enough movies out there with 'white' people beating up Russians (or Africans? prolly before my time). Who cares, people are just people, im fine with it as long as someone is getting beated up

You're the one that seems silly, like you love this filmmaker too much for some reason.

They weren't really "friends". You can tell they're suppose to be people they socialize with but don't really like a lot. Theyre written that way so when they're killed the audience can enjoy it.

Its still killing the white family even though theyre clones. Its a clever way to do it without doing it directly. Theyre representations of the white family. Also the scene where the real white mom is killed is played for laughs. You actually get to see the annoying white family killed twice.

You have to put it in the context of this filmmakers other film and everything else I mentioned in my second post (above, near the top).

LOL so they went on vacation together and their kids knew each other and they knew about each other's lives and you claim they werent friends. I guess you would know better than the director. Who's looking silly here?

That they met the white family at the beach I think was just to streamline the plot. They could have been the annoying neighbors, but he needed the Hall of Mirrors scene so I think it was a way of doing two things at once, so he made them "friends". You have to look at the way they interact though. They seem to be just tolerating them and the twins are definitely meant to be annoying and not nice to the little boy. He could have written it more blatant but he's subtle about it, I'm sure with rewrites. Its like in Get Out they could have been right wingers, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were at first, but he sort of camouflages it by making them liberals. It's obvious what his politics are though so he's not fooling me.

It's a horror movie. Don't bad things happen to "People of color" as well? Haven't seen it yet.

People are constantly accusing horror movies of being sexist, racist etc. I think they usually are just reading too much into things. Sometimes bad things happen to good people.
