shareits not a very good film, its slow boring and predictable. Besides it is not a horror film there was more funny one liners in the film than anything scary. The best parts about the film are the lead actress who was outstanding and the teenage girl who did a very good creepy evil face.

shareHaving said what I've said, there have been other very highly rated horrors on there without black cast members or any race element. I like The Babadook, Under the Shadow and It Follows and they all have close to 100% fresh ratings with many votes. TB has 98% with over 200 votes.
It is apparent though that some virtue signalling does exist with racial movies today. No other way to explain Black Panther getting an Oscar nom. Like Black Panther and Get Out and quite possibly those mentioned above, I would expect Us to be good but not 'THAT' good.
That's just it. None of those got Oscar attention nor were they considered to be 'snubbed'. I have to say the ratings on those movies make me feel 'a little' better, but again, the fact the Get Out WON an Oscar ticks me off. To me that's saying that Get Out is the only worthy horror to come along in a long time. And the Black Panther thing was also a joke. It has everything to do with people screaming to the world that they are recognizing 'black art', I'm pretty sure these are the people that Get Out was REALLY satirizing!

It's once movies like 'Get Out' and 'Black Panther' get Oscar noms based on race and politics rather than their own merit that I start to shake my head. 'Get Out' was a blatant ripoff of 'The Skeleton Key' just with the races reversed... yet it wins Best Original Screenplay? okaaaay. Then there's 'Black Panther' with its various nominations... clearly undeserved. BP was about as average as a superhero movie can get. 'Us' is another decent movie, but with plot holes galore.
