This film has some pressure to live up too

Following a Oscar winning horror Get Out that change the game and was critically acclaimed upon it's release, which it finished top of many film of the year lists. Jordan Peele has some pressure on his shoulders. He's got a interesting cast and the trailer's have been impressive. So here's hoping it's just as great as Get Out. But have a feeling unless Us is every bit as great as that film it's going to be seen as a disappointment by audiences and critics.

Only time will tell.

I loved Get Out so much I have such high hopes for this, to be honest I'm not sure it can possibly live up. Sure as hell am hoping though!

The early reviews for it have been outstanding. It debuted with 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and an 82 on Metacritic (with nothing but positive reviews). And yeah, some have called it a true successor to Peele’s last film.

While we can’t get carried away (yet), I say things are looking quite good for it. So whether it’s up to par with Get Out or not (dare I say it looks better), another great horror film from Peele would be satisfying enough for me. I’m hyped.

reviews are threw the Roof...

perfect 100% on RT....

if you read the reviews they are overwhelmingly positive....calling US a masterpiece and proclaiming this cements Peele as director that going to be a legend in 10 years....

I'm so excited....every since the first trailer I had a feeling about this film....

It looks amazing and specifically it looks like its got "Peele's fingerprints" all over it...

I absolutely think its going to live up to the pressure....for those who have seen it...Its not an exaggeration to say...They are BLOWN AWAY and ONLY have amazing things to say about it

I think this might be even bigger than GET OUT

Having seen Get Out, they should just give him Best Picture and Best Director now, and invent a new category, best filmmaker of all time, and just give it to him for his two horror movies. And give him the fucking Nobel peace prize while we're at it, because...2 'flawless' horror movies. No other movies can possibly live up to them. I don't even need to see Us, because I'm sure it's just perfect.

(Just in case you don't see my sarcasm, these critics are a joke. They should be fired. Can't wait for the Jordan Peele is the best filmmaker of all time fad to end).

was completely with you until you unfortunately and embarrassingly added "these critics are a joke"

as you know everyone is entitled to thier own opinion, and as I read your post it was clear your not a fan of Get Out and thats perfectly fine, I was planing on finishing your post and Not commenting as I thought you were just giving Your Opinion(an Opinion that In a very small Minority) but Its your opinion none the less....

But then you said something that ONLY the desperate and Angry say, you added the old "these "critics are a joke" excuse...

and this of course changes things because Now Instead of simply giving your opinion....your instead trying to "Claim everyone else is wrong and you are right"

this ONLY happens when The Person knows they are in The Minority and dont have the facts behind them...

you clearly hate Get Out, But you also cant help but see The Film is Universally Loved and Praised...this bothers you, It bothers you that Other people dont agree with you that the movie is bad, and It KILLS that Instead no matter what you say or do, The Consensus is, Its a truly great movie....

this has lead you down the path now of because You cant change The Consensus, You have no other option but to IGNORE it...

thus we get the desperate and angry "who cares about critics, Who cares about the Oscars, Who cares about the excellent reviews on all sites, who's cares about The great Audiences scores"....Nope, Everybody is wrong, you are right,,,'

You are more than within you right to Hate Get Out as much as you want....unfortunately your just going to have to accept Your opinion is NOT SHARED BY Many...In fact Its in a Tiny, almost non existent Minority...

you dont have to agree with the consensus, but you cant change it...

but lets be real...again thats what bothers you most....

theres really no need for you to respond back as you basically forfeited the right for me to take you seriously when You said "these critics are jokes" and Proved you would rather IGNORE ALL fact and data than accept your opinion is in the minority....

Understand that nothing you say to me ever again can be taken seriously after you stooped to such Pathetic and shocking Low....

Please BLOCK ME immediately so I never have the misfortune of ever talking to you again....

You should feel nothing but SHAME and Embarrassment....your post above resulted in NOTHING but Pure character assassination for yourself....

I don't really hate Get Out. My sarcasm is clear to anyone who isn't a halfwit (as you clearly are). This director is being hyped to completely absurd proportions, and I believe these critics have ulterior motives (virtue-signalling). I don't think there's any conceivable way they think these movies are THIS spectacular. This is just yet another impact of the cancerous SJW culture. I'm able to state my reply without having a mental collapse and writing a long-winded, idiotic dissertation.

again there was no need to respond...

You hatred and biased was clear by your pathetic attempt to IGNORE The consensus....

You can feel there is an Ulterior motive all you want...you can believe whatever delusional ramblings you want...that is your right...

Just know...It changes nothing...Your opinions are in a tiny, almost non existent minority...

While you delusionally believe theres a conspiracy among critics and audiences ....

The rest of the world does not believe or even consider these ODD and Pathetic excuses...

it is perfectly fine for you to watch Get Out, and believe you saw a bad movie and over rated movie....

but Literally 95% of everyone else in the world that watched the movie saw the exact opposite...

and yes you Hate the movie...Thats the only reason for why You would stoop to such absurd fantasy excuses...

There are a ton of movies you probably dont like....but you dont spend time making up conspiracy theories for why "everyone is wrong" about them being good

that fact that you go to such shocking length to try and cast doubt on The Quality of Get Out proves you Hate the movie and it bothers you thats its considered so good

again please do not respond...I truly dont need to read anything else you vomit out of your mouth

reply

You must enjoy me responding by trying to bait me by acting like an irritating little shit, but the fact remains is that Get Out is objectively overrated. Literally no movie warrants the things that are being said, it takes time (and more than two fcking movies) to declare a director as an 'all time great' or whatever moronic shit I read from some critics. These people enjoy hyping up the director because he is black and possibly enjoy the unexpected underdog narrative of it coming from a comedian. Get Out was a simplistic little satire, and it would have NEVER received the same attention coming from a different director. As for you, I think you are just a dunce and probably have no ulterior motive, just shit standards.

reply

How did get out change the game? Just curious. I found the movie to be entertaining but by no means was it groundbreaking. I think the racial aspect of it and who it came from is what generated the hype. Like I said it was a well made movie and I hope this new one is as good as what the trailer is making it look like.

reply

It actually didn't. These days people have a tendency to invent their own reality. Right now everyone is tripping on the 'black comedian is flawless filmmaker' drug. They couldn't criticize his movie if their lives depended on it.

reply

It didn't. It was just a good movie. But media is so desperate to find some good black director that they transformed it into The Big Next Event.

It happened the same with Black Panther, which was a standard Marvel movie and according to Rotten Tomatoes it's the Greates Movie in History (not kidding, it's still ranked as #1).

The consequence of that behavior is that, after a while, people notice the pattern and start to discount: if a black movie is said to be great, it means it's good. If it's said to be good, well, you know. Then that attitude will be labeled as racism, and so we go again.

reply

I'm so impatient waiting for what I hope will be tremendous backlash against this nonsense because you'd have to be pretty compromised to not see it.

reply

Why? this guy is just a decent standard director who has been overpraised beyond his real merits because he's black. That's all.

reply

Lol, you make it sound so normal and standard. I mean, this is wrong. I don't dislike Peele but this 'reverse racism' is not helpful. It's part of the movement that is publicly hanging white people for getting filmed having any negative encounter with a black person for being 'racist'.

reply

Yeap, but this is not his fault. He's taking advantage of modern reverse racism, no need to say, but why shouldn't he?. I'd do the same if I was him.

The problem lies in the people who are creating and promoting that modern reverse racism.

This film has some pressure to live up

You mean: the critics have some pressure to vote up
