James McAvoy's performance has got to be one of the best performances eve

Okay, I mean, the leading performances in Dallas Buyers Club, Monster, Black Swan and Misery and a few others who truly deserved their Oscars wins, but James McAvoy's performance is way up there. He gave one of the best performances ever, in my opinion. I thought he was excellent in both movies, a high energy performance. He was really superb. I mean scarily good. I'm very impressed with McAvoy's ability to perform with different accents. After watching Glass made me want to see more him on the screen, I really do. That amazing moment when he kissed Anya Taylor-Joy's character and then said she might be pregnant.

He was the best actor the movie.

Agreed. JM's performances in both Split and this have been top notch. I have the highest respect for him now.

Yup, saw this movie, realized how much my interest level rocketed every time he was in a scene, came home and put in "Split" to see two hours of it. Yeah, the accents...he nails every personality so well...and the transitions between them are wholly believable. Like, you can't even discern the actor behind them, he just IS. Such a pleasure to watch this guy perform.

He was out of this world in both films. To say he was intense and fully immersive as Kevin/his many identities would be an understatement. He was already compelling (and award-worthy) enough in Split, yet he managed to top his performance in Glass. Just the way he “snapped” so convincingly between all these many more different personalities in Glass was a sight to behold.

I may have heard things like “chew the scenery” and “gimmicky” in regards to his performance by a tiny, tiny group (nonsense), however what McAvoy did as Kevin and his multiple personalities was without question some of the greatest acting ever put on screen. There are many layers to his performance and he perfectly embodies each and every one of his different characters; he’s captivating as the Beast alone. It’s hard to imagine any other great actor doing what McAvoy did with the role.

With all this in mind, if an Oscar for acting should represent the absolute cream of the crop, then McAvoy hands down deserves a nom for his work in Glass. He truly gave a one of a kind and masterful performance.

No, not the best ever but the best thing in this terrible (mostly terrible because of the plot and directing) movie. His acting has improved so much since the last king of Scotland, back then everyone made a big deal over Forest's performance while James's was kind of forgotten (because it was forgettable) - they can't forget his acting now.
