This has got to be the goofiest film to ever win best picture.

I can't profess to know or have seen every single best picture winner but I'd be surprsied if someone could name one that is more stupid and silly than this film.

Sausage fingers, dildos, butt plugs, rocks, bagels and one of the directors has a cameo as a gimp. This is not the sort of film that wins best picture.

Decent concept, great acting, outstanding editing and a big dollop of the most cringe inducing humor imaginable.

This was my first 'Daniels' film though I'm aware of Swiss Army Man which involves a farting zombie or something stupid like that. I do not have a great sense of humor as it is and infantile quirky stuff like this just drives me up the wall.

I'd give this a 6/10 due to the acting and editing. Both were good but holy shit I can't stand this brand of humor. Ruined the film for me.

It's a little over the top and yeah, butt plugs and best picture don't quite go together. lol...

But I think that's why it won, it's a basket full of nuts and not your typical Oscar winner. That being said, I agree with the 6/10 rating. Underneath all the crazy stuff, there is a story to be found but you have to dig really deep inside to find it.

I recently watched Poor Things and its also a little over the top but I thought Poor Things was quite a bit better than this. It's hard to get movies of this nature just right. If its too much, it kills the story, it's it not enough, you miss out on the special effects and whatnot. At the end of the day, the special fx might be the best part of EEAAO. It has some really good camera work in it.

I also agree that the film was a wacky Oscar winner. But I will say something that I feel has been a long time coming. Michelle Yeoh finally winning an Oscar. I have followed her career through "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" to the James Bond film "Tomorrow Never Dies" and beyond.
And it was nice that Jamie Lee Curtis finally won an Oscar also. It's a long road from the original "Halloween', through "True Lies" to this moment, and she also deserved it!
