I'd never watch it again.

Why is it that all these recent Best Picture winners are movies that I'd never want to watch again. A good movie has repeat viewings from fans.

reply

I do not care to even watch it once.

I checked out a couple of minutes here and there and it just looks stupid.

reply

This is one you need to watch again. And again. I was turned off by it at first, but I keep watching it and I like it more each time.

Some people don't like that. I happen to love movies that are a puzzle, that I see new things in, each time I watch.

Stockholm Syndrome?

Keep in mind that the Academy is made up of a bunch of snooty, arrogant, well-established assholes in Hollyweird. Their taste in films is usually pretty shitty, and sometimes the only way you can get a film to get Best Picture is to bribe and suck up to these elites during schmoozing parties. Only once in a very long while does a film truly deserve the Oscars it wins.

There was a saying back when the Golden Age of film was waning, that the Academy Awards was just Hollywood glorifying itself. The awards aren't as important as Tinseltown want's you to think they are. It's all about marketing and self-love. Several actors in Hollywood history actually turned down Oscars because they saw the entire thing for the phony glorification that it was, and far too often, people who truly deserved those awards never got them, while bad or untalented people and shitty films would get them all the time.

Keeping that in mind, rarely do I watch "Oscar-Winning" films, especially ones as stupid as this one.

🤣WHAT A MAROON.

reply

"Maroon" is a racist slur. Even Bugs Bunny doesn't say it anymore.

reply

WHY DO YOU INSIST ON BEING SO USELESS?

reply

Huh? Maroon is a racist slur, idiot. It's offensive to us. I'm trying to help you not look like a complete jackass. Do you use the 'n' word too?

Maroon
Race: Blacks
When the slave ships had a troublemaking slave-to-be they would drop him off on a small island or rock in the middle of the ocean thus 'marooning' him.

LAST I CHECKED I WAS NOT EMPLOYED ON ANY SLAVE SHIPS...A COUPLE HUNDRED YEARS AGO...AND I GREW UP WITH THE LOONEY TUNES...SO IN OTHER WORDS...I'M TAKING IT BACK!

It's primarily made up of jews and their minds are rotted by constant paranoia and inbreeding, along with an obsession with the purpose of eliminating White businesses. So far, with the later, they're succeeding.

reply

Hollywood Jews give regular, everyday Jews a bad name. The Hollywood ones, (particularly the rich, powerful ones), made the exact same mistake the Pharisees did thousands of years ago (which shows you just how stupid they are in not learning from their ancestors' mistakes) and ditched worshiping Yaweh for money and power. In fact, they're only "Jewish" or "White" when it suits them. Jews in Washington D.C. and the higher echelons of the corporate sphere are just as bad.

And yeah, there's definitely inbreeding involved in their community, if the proliferation of stupidity, bad eyesight, and ovarian cancer is any indicator.

reply

Ashkenazi Jews in particular are very inbred, since they are descended from a very small number of ancestors who migrated to Europe in the early medieval period. The degree of their inbreeding is shown by the high frequency of genetic diseases among them, such as Tay-Sachs disease. The incidence of genetic diseases among them is considerably greater than among the Gentile populations in whose midst they lived.

I just saw it for the first time, I can't say I was highly impressed with it but it has some good moments. The movie is all over the place though, honestly, I'm not sure I totally understood it. That being said, the strong point of EEAAO has to be the fancy camera tricks, it has some really great ones. The special effects are kind of interesting too.

For the most part, its basically an action film mixed in with some comedy/sci-fi.

It reminds me of two movies, The Matrix and that Jim Carey film, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind.

Movies that are all over the place like this are difficult to get right, they just bombard you with so much stuff going on that you lose track of any semblance of a story, it's like opening a closet door thats been shut for years and tons of stuff falls out. Its funny and amusing but its messy too.

I definitely enjoyed the 2nd hour+ more than the first. Anyhow, pretty solid film, I'll give it a 6.8 out of 10. I'll have to watch it again just to catch everything.

I FELT BASICALLY THE SAME AS YOU AFTER SEEING IT...THEN MY DAUGHTER WHO LOVES IT MADE ME WATCH IT THREE MORE TIMES...MY RATING FOR THE FILM ONLY GREW WITH EACH VIEWING...I STARTED AT A 5.5/6 MAYBE...TODAY I WOULD GIVE IT A SOLID 8.5/9

reply

I could picture my rating going up upon multiple viewings, I just wish that first hour and the ending were a little better.

I'd still have to say I think Banshees Of Inisherin should have won best picture but I'm not disappointed that this took the prize. It has some unique elements to it and all in all, it can be described as a wild ride for sure.

reply

I STILL NEED TO SEE THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN...A LOT OF FOLKS SEEM TO LOVE IT.

reply

It might be the best dark comedy I've ever seen. It's not for the faint of heart though. It's a little bit disturbing.

But I like movies of this nature. So, yeah, I liked it a lot.

reply

Agree. I could not actually finish the movie, forget the repeat value.

reply

I actually fell asleep halfway, didnt even feel bothered to continue watching it.
