How do these kids get their water supply?

Municipal water I would imagine would be no longer in working order. And collecting rain water is out of the question. I see them struggling to scavenge for food but they never seem worried about water. And they all have military canteens implying they aren't finding plastic water bottles scattered around town. How are they staying hydrated?

This is a good question. In the first episode they showed maybe some type of precipitation system. It is a shot of some water dripping into the plants so I thought, or maybe they have some type of system to create or purify water, but it's not really explained. I would think for any survivors that water, not food, would be the largest hurdle to survival unless the virus can be killed by boiling water.

I wondered the same thing. Has to be some water purifying system that they didn't care to mention cause they thought viewers were too dumb to catch it.

If the virus was in the water, it is in everything.

In the first episode when they arrived at the school (?) I think they were condensing water. I don't know if they were just capturing it from the air or boiling water and purifying it in some way, but I'm pretty sure that's how they got their water.
