You want to hear what's REALLY crazy? It made more money domestically than Ready Player One. It also made more than 3x domestically what both Tomb Raider and Pacific Rim: Uprising made, as well as making more than those two films worldwide as well.

shareSpecial effects and big franchise names alone can't carry a movie anymore. Basically the entire production budget was spent on creature effects, which were well done. It's the characters and the tension fueled story that made it a great film to watch though. Developing characters with so little dialogue was an accomplishment all by itself!

A Quiet Place was actually a really, really good movie, that I think deserves a couple rewatches.
I enjoyed Ready Player One. It was imperfect and a bit messy at times, but also a lot of fun at times and, for the first time in ages, I felt glimmers of the old Spielberg magic while watching it.
shareIt was well made, I guess... just a horrible, senseless premise. The way VR works in the movie just doesn't make sense. I couldn't make enough sense of it to suspend my disbelief and enjoy the movie.
