She's always wearing it, yet it's not helping her hear anything. They keep showing, from her perspective, everything is perfectly still, NO NOISE. So why would she be wearing a hearing aid that's not helping her hear one bit?!

What you are seeing its the external part of a cochlear implant. I am guessing the actress has one and they just worked it into the plot instead of explaining it away.

Yeah, couldn't she at least remove the hearing aid when it was making the disturbing, high-frequency sound.
