Why would you try and comfort (Spoilers)

a psychotic girl moments after you killed her lover and the man she was obsessed with? Miles was a fucking idiot, yeah let me lay my gun down and go over and put my hand on the crazy girl who will very likely want me dead now and try and comfort her and apologize.

Even after she clearly admitted earlier she killed people and didn't give a fuck, so why feel the need to apologize to her anyways? its not like she was some innocent girl.
