shareIt'll still be rubbish. Loads of box office bombs have the myth attached that they would have been a classic only for studio cuts. Some of them did get special editions and were still rubbish.

shareYour reading comprehension is poor. I didn't say it was a myth that there was a longer cut. It's a myth that the longer cut will be some sort of classic. You can't polish a turd.
shareActually, the final cut is a pretty average movie. A lot of the criticisms it got weren’t valid. People seriously believe Jean was possessed despite being nothing in the movie that suggests that.
shareI take your point about polishing a turd, but I would be into seeing this longer cut because I actually really liked the version we got, and I would be happy to see more scenes.
shareI'd be interested in seeing a directors cut. Even if it is still bad. I'd want to know if the original ending was more like the original story. (Spoiler warning for the original story) Maybe Jean Grey destroying a planet was too much for the test audiences. Or maybe it was just a messy CGI space battle.
I'd be interested in seeing the original Fantastic Four cut too. Not because i think these films would be great but because it would be an interesting insight into the movie industry.
