What is the timeline here?

First car we see is a Citroen DS made between 1955 and 1975. Other French cars are from the same era, while everyone is wearing modern clothes, hair and makeup.
Typical Haussmann buildings are nowhere to be seen either.

They use old French cars to make it explicit we're now in France. Like having a red bus for London or lots of yellow taxis for Rhyl, sorry New York. Modern cars would be indistinguishable as they are all the same in any city due to our truly global market these days.
