Did they make the movie ridiculous on purpose?

I mean, when you have JLaw saying 'I don't remember the last time you risked something'... to a guy that got in a bloody wheelchair for helping others, and that rejects treatment because that would interfere with his powers and would prevent him for helping others (even more)...

I wonder... did the screenwriters/producers/team received the wokeness memo and over-exaggerated it on purpose, kind of Japanese strike myth, or were they really that unaware?

I hated that entire clip. I was expecting nonsense like that closing X-Women line. But the way Mystique was talking to Xavier was utterly absurd, completely out of character, completely ignoring their history. And Charles wasn't very Professor X his own self. He was really emoing it up. They have completely lost the narrative of both the previous films and the comics. Even Quicksilver's dialog was gooferinio. It was like he was reading the scene synopsis and they never wrote in the actual words for him to use.

In the previous movie, Jean says to Charles: "you don't know what it is to feel trapped in your own body "

Next movie:

Mystique: You don't know how it feels to be trapped in your own body, not being able to stand up.
Xavier: ...

Mystique: You don't know how painful is to bleed constantly!
Wolverine: Ahem...

Mystique: You can't understand how it feels when people don't look you into the eyes!!
Cyclops: (sigh)

Mystique: You don't know what is to be judged because of your body instead of your mind, how could you? You're nothing but a monkey!
Beast: I see...

Yea

I was thinking 'ok, they are replaying the whole new-version' since the movie with the time travel. And in this version of the universe Xavier has more character flaws. well
