Was it the fist bump Dennis did with Bill Skarsgard that caused him to shoot all the guards?

At first i just thought he finally snapped and couldn't take working there anymore but then i remembered the fist bump he did with Bill Skarsgard's character, and it was played off like something happened when he touched his fist with some ominous music playing.

I'm thinking whenever you come in contact with him something bad happens to you afterwards, the roommate he had came towards him and didn't he say "Don't touch me"? next thing you know he's being taken out dead in a body bag.

That's one explanation and I hope that's it. The other reason I dont like so much is that he wanted the dark things happening at the prison investigated and decided to commit this crime so that the full eyes of the law would now be focused on Shawshank. I dont expect he thought he would just straight up be shot though.

I just find it really hard to believe he did that on his own, didn't he recently have a baby or his wife was pregnant? I don't see him throwing that away and leaving them cause he's not happy at work. Plus wasn't the dead guards bodies on the security cameras the same ones he saw in the 1st episode when he saw Bill Skarsgard's character walking in the hall? Its like he was showing him his future.

Its like he was showing him his future.

Interesting thought!

Honestly all I thought was that now the guard would die also because he touched "the devil".

But you could be right that touching that prisoner affected his behavior, although by that point it didn't seem like it would take much for him to go off the deep end, anyway.

What the devil said to that Nazi, btw, was "Don't want to touch me".

I think that's it. Physical contact probably allows him to get into peoples minds and influence them.

Yeah, it's similar to the "sin eater" concept in The Green Mile. In that film, he swallowed something that took away the tumor of the warden's wife and later spit it back out into the guy who was already pretty messed up. In this show, it's like touching him takes the suffering that is already there and amplifies it.

So in the end he wasnt even 'the devil' but just a guy stuck in the wrong universe or something. They didnt come back to this whole touch thing in the end did they?
