Lots of funny jokes, way too many inside jokes and cameos by people I didn't recognize, but the sold-out audience laughed non-stop so I suppose they did the trick. Jason Lee has probably the best cameo, though Ben Affleck gives a really powerful speech. I definitely enjoyed this film far more than the previous Jay & Silent Bob film, so here's a case of the reboot being superior. Snootch to the motherfuckin' bootch!

shareI mean, yeah, it's a Kevin Smith movie. If you like his sense of humor, you'll like this movie. And stay until the very, very end. There are a lot of great deleted scenes, a couple bloopers, and a fantastic cameo, along with a post-post-credits scene that ties everything back into one nice big circle.
shareThe deleted bits were terrific but I can see why they were left out of the movie. They didn't really fit with the scenes they're excerpted from. The very last bit was utterly epic.

shareI like these movies, much to my surprise. I kind of got into them by accident.
At first glance they seemed kind of stupid. But I liked Clerks, then watched Dogma and of the Jay and Silent Bob movies and loved it.
I even loved Clerks 2. But they can be an acquired taste and they do use the same characters and actors a lot, so if you watch them in isolation some of it may be lost on you.
I was a big Jay and silent bob fan when I was a kid...it seems so long ago, is there any relevance left? To me it seems like, I don't know, if someone were to try and bring back dial up internet and make it popular again...I just don't see a market for it.
But, hell, I'm wrong plenty.
Chasing Amy is his masterpiece, check that one out ASAP.
shareI loved it. I'm not sure if non super fans will get much out of it. The whole thing rides entirely on nostalgia, reflection and cameos. As a capstone on the viewaskewverse, it was a homerun for me. Lot of clever writing and wordplay in the dialog. Most enjoyable. Not laugh out loud funny for me like the early stuff. But very amusing. And I don't usually care for sappy heart tug storylines like the one they injected here, but this hit me right in the feels. I think it's Kevin's best film in years.

I LOVED Jason Lee’s speech about remakes, reboots, and reimaginings, haha. My favorite part of the movie was him ripping all of that to shreds.
As I expected, I didn’t like the young kid characters...they annoyed the hell out of me, but I’m 36 years old. I figured they’d annoy me with the politically correct preaching with everything. I’m sure that was the point. That’s how kids are now.
Overall, a decent nostalgia trip.
