X-Files meets Twin Peaks in a weirdly American Pacific Northwest style French town

It's really the best way to describe this show.

It's kind of an episodic procedural, with each episode sort of a unique weird phenomenon and loosely connecting this kind of weird, celtic forest force/creature. Yet the town itself is tied together with a very strange and Lynchian conspiracy of some kind.

What I think is particularly odd about it is how American Pacific Northwest the setting is. If you dubbed this well in English, you might not even recognize the setting as France. I'm kind of curious what French people think of this show's environment. Is there much of France that's this remote and kind of rural, and do the people there drive 4WD trucks and wear flannel?

I've been watching it English dubbed and keep forgetting it's French and not American.
