Episode 2 could have been edited to half....

In an interview of the creator, he suggested a viewer could watch episodes out of order....well, I get why he said that because after watching Episode 2 it's hard to keep watching this show....

Episode 2 is such a pretentious, obvious David Lynch copy that could have been edited down to half of its 1:37 run time.

Though the show has been beautifully filmed.....and John Hawkes....I love John Hawkes...one of our greatest underrated actors...

Didn't know that, that could be fun

I think Refn has an interesting view on fascism

David Lynch is so huge it's almost impossible not to copy him (consciously or not). So I really have no problem with that. Also, he is not the only massive influence on TOTDY with 'Juan Solo/Son of a Gun' being another.

As to editing/pacing... I was watching this saying to myself: God! This is interesting but also so slow for the sake of being slow! Will it ever end?

Watching this I'm like, "I really, really want to like it." But the continued dialog and filming techniques want me to pull my hair out.

It's like everyone has the same speech pattern - few words, slow speaking.

Though I can't get over on how beautifully it is filmed.

Also, it is good to see visual media in America quit relying upon the facial focus shots for all their walks and to pull back and use the entire surroundings in the filming. How Myles Teller walks across the screen is fascinating - he almost slithers when he walks, while not being slimy, but instead lethally coiled ready to strike....
