Too many loose ends for there not to be a sequel

Hacker says we can't let them win.

Are they just going to let that thread hang?

I think the ending definitely provide room for sequal. You can do a redemption arc for the detectives family kind of like Bourne, then the whole underground conflict between AI and hackers, and of course Grey vs Stem.

Agreed. This time a sequel would show STEM completely inhabiting and controlling a human body, and going on a brutal killing spree.

Or that's another possibility - "a human overcoming a corrupted artificial intelligence"

It would be interesting to watch Grey figure out he's actually trapped in a fantasy inside his own head, and is not in the real world.

I'm glad there isn't a sequel... There will be a series, so you guys can enjoy the various story developments and tangents... I think movies aren't the right medium for filling in all the details, rather they're more suited for immersion, mood and atmosphere... Making you feel something...
