Why would the IP holders give the IP to Milla Jovovich and her husband to make a Resident Evil clone? What a way to waste the IP.

They could have made a far better and cheaper movie had they excluded Milla Jovovich and her husband, went with a different director, used their modest budget wisely, tone down the action, used it sparingly, concentrate on world building. Liked Tony Jaa, should have made him the main protagonist, making him speak more English but have his dialogue stilted, think Man with no name, a la Eastwood.

It they were going to market it worldwide anyway, especially in Asia, does the lead have to be white? I know you whities need to see other whities for you to relate to anything.
