Rough S4 start

The episode was a bit awkward, hard to articulate exactly why ... anyone else?

It was all over the place. What a mess! There was no storyline that was followable. The story jumped around too much. All the regular characters seemed emotionally checked out. They were all so curt with the patients too. The show never focused long enough on one patient story for me to care about it. Really, really bad.

reply

I thought it was fine, it wasn't an episode dealing with any particular patients story, it did a little bit, but the main point of the episode was showing us how covid has affected the hospital and their personal lives.

reply

I started watching Transplant from NBC and I want to like it but so many of the characters are angry all the time for no reason other than the actresses are bad at acting.

reply

Ugh, this season is awful. Might be the last for me.

reply

Not sure if the show can survive without Melendez.
The actor probably asked to be written out b/c he got a new gig or smth but the show lost major appeal with him gone.
For shame...

reply

Yeah I liked him too. Not sure if he would be enough to save this show though. It seems like once you’ve seen a hospital show then you’ve seen them all just different locations and cast.

reply

I think the show ran it's course a while ago. How much can you really do with a character who will never be capable of really understanding? You can't just have Shaun start improving or getting better, it doesn't work like that. Watching him with Lea is painful as well.

reply

Well that was basically the premise of House, but I agree, Lea is an obnoxious character.

reply

Could you imagine the uproar if a man had a relationship with a female who was like Shaun? I just don't see him as socially capable or emotionally intelligent/aware enough to cope with the shit that comes from being in a relationship.

He is like a love sick puppy being thrown into a den of wolves. Same thing with the previous woman he tried being with.

House was a mess in other ways but at least I never saw him as a victim or childlike.
