Season 2 Finale

So, did everyone on the board just dump the new guy for Shaun? I was really hoping the show would take a different angle with this new boss, but it's already over?

This show has been losing me with the romance between Lim/Melendez and Lea still being around.

Well, first, I really like this show. I did not realize that was the finale, but I guess it makes some kind of sense, though it wrapped things up instead of creating suspense over how the next season is going to fix things.

Fo you know if the show has been cancelled or not? I hope not, I really like so many things about this show.

For Dr. Han, I was sorry to see him go, if he indeed is gone. Firing him the way it was done was not a good decision. A guy like that in reality could sue them for wrongful termination or something.

At first Han rubbed me the wrong way ... I did not like him at all. But after seeing him perform, and his decisions and skills in the OR I realized he was very competent and was doing the right things.

From his point of view, seeing Sean in the fetal position lying down and having a breakdown in a terrible infectious emergency was a big problem, which it should have been.

I agree with you that it would have been ideal to find some kind of alternate resolution to the disagreement about Sean, but I think that would have restricted future shows and made them very difficult to write, unless they charted out a whole arc.

I also enjoyed the romance between Lim/Melendez, and the competition. They were great characters, and this show really gets the very strong egos and god complexes that some doctors have, while at the same time they over humanize them.

All in all, to me, it's a great show, and Freddie Highmore is so good in his portrayal of Sean ... the problem is, what is the reality? Is there actually any doctor like that. What is the point there are trying to make except to highlight normal people by having them play against the foil of Dr. Murphy.

I am willing to overlook the imperfections of the show because of its message of tolerance and diversity.

The show did get renewed.

I understand the "message" but I think there would be a better impact and message to people, if we see the challenges for Shaun to face in the real world, instead of him getting what he wants - to be a surgeon.

Also, a good cliffhanger to keep people wanting to come back for next season.

I don't need a cliffhanger to want to come back for the next season ... in fact the whole cliffhanger thing is so cliche. I am glad they sort of get beyond that.

Glad to hear it got renewed. I think this show is not so realistic, but it is really brilliant in how it approaches subjects and humanity.

I agree that the show pulled its punches with the firing of Dr. Han. Did you know that the actor was either the director or executive producer of these episodes. I thought the character of Dr. Han was a really ground-breaking image in so many ways. A bit of the asshole know-it-all boss, but who actually does know it all,, at least in terms of his way or seeing the world.

What the whole exercise of those episodes I suppose were meant to show is that not everything cam be justified on efficiency or money. But I don't think the firing of Dr. Han made that point well ... it looked as you say that they just dumped the new guy for Shaun.

After all that effort and writing they lost it with an ineffective and incoherent ending.

But I have a real respect for Daniel Dae Kim, i think is his name ... Jim from LOST, and also was on Hawaii 5-0 .. which I never watched.
