Worst of the Franchise

People normally say Genysis is the worst and while it is bad at least that movie tried to do something new. Dark Fate is by far the worst movie.

- The story is just a gender swapped version of Terminator 2 but instead of John Connor we get a mexican teenage girl who is a boring character and the actress is terrible
- Killing John Conner in the opening scene making the previous films pointless
- James Cameron comes back and offers nothing of value and just repeats the same stuff he did 30 years ago.
- Arnold comes back but doesn't show up until halfway through the movie and when he finally does they don't give him anything to do
- They tried to hype up how it was going to be Rated R again but the violence was no worse than a PG-13 except for maybe one scene. You could almost argue Salvation was more violent
- Forced femenist and pro-immigration themes that felt completely out of place
- Generic action scenes that are nowhere on par with the previous films

As much as I love 1 and 2, I'm really glad this movie was a financial flop and hopefully killed the franchise so we don't have to get anymore crappy and unneeded sequels in this franchise that has been a dumpster fire for the past 15 years.

I agree. The woke genuflecting turned viewers off, but the big problem with the movie was chucking John Connor in the waste bin in the opening scene. I think that was the A number 1 thing audiences hated about the movie. They should have remembered the backlash against the original ending of Terminator: Salvation -- John Connor died, and Marcus Wright then succumbs to his implanted Terminator programming and kills all his human allies, including Kyle Reese, who can now never go back to save Sarah Connor from the first Terminator.

Test audiences HATED it, and they had to change it. And while I'm sure sequels, had they followed the original plan, would have found some other way to save humanity, I don't think audiences would ever really accept that. You simply can't build up a character for three movies as the man who has a Great Destiny before him to save humanity from extinction, and then make him a failure who accomplished nothing. And you can't get an audience emotionally invested in a character over that same span of time, and just squash him like that.

Woke Fate repeated that mistake, and audiences hated it. So the movie flopped.

I agree. It is the worst of the franchise.

Yes, Dark Fate was rather 'woke'.....but Salvation sent me to sleep at the cinema (and likewise several attempts on Blu-ray)

Mind you....I'm no fan of (the overrated) T2 either?

Can't take your opinion seriously then.

Oh well, that's my feelings well and truly hurt, then?
T2 is a overlong watered-down bubblegum sequel (remembered largely for it's FX and little else) a complete bastardisation of the original.
Take said 'FX' away from T2 and you're left with an whiny annoying kid and weak central character engaging in inane 'T-Shirt Slogan' dialogue. Compare that to the calculated, threatening menace of the original.....and perhaps take a long hard look at yourself for praising such garbage.
All of the sequels are weak in that aspect, by failing to capitalize on what made the original so memorable (I.e, Schwarzenegger as a fucking Terminator....you know....someone that actually fucking terminates stuff....and not some candy-assed protector, with a side-line in quips) Yet Cameron (and others after him) just throw money at the screen in an attempt to sate the easily-pleased.

Guess it worked for you, eh?

I give less than half a fuck about what you think of my opinion (at very least I have an opinion)

T2>T1>D.F.>T3>SALVATION>GENYSIS

I ENJOYED DARK FATE...I ENJOYED MOVING ON FROM JOHN...I LIKED THE CAST FROM TOP TO BOTTOM...MY ONLY REAL COMPLAINT IS THE NEW "SAVIOR"...SHE WAS OKAY,BUT I COULD SEE A LOT OF OTHER ACTORS IN THAT ROLE.

No contest

I'd have to agree with this.

I've seen it 3 or 4 times now and I can never get to the ending.

It is not shockingly better than Genysis.

This was a franchise that truly ended with a dud.

I can't think of anything worse...other than "Jaws".
