Humans using Legion aircraft and firearms

Why is AI always dumb in these "Terminator" movies. In the one scene in the future they show the resistance traveling by obviously advanced Legion's aircraft and shooting terminators with Legion's firearms, so why does Legion make it so easy for humans to use their weapons against them. They don't have to design their aircraft and armaments to be utilized by humans.

Good observation! Skynet would never produce anything ergonomic. Firearms Skynet built would most probably have no mechanical triggers outside, as Skynet units can operate them via secure wireless connections. Nor would they be light or safe enough to carry around by human infantry.

In the past, they've been using plasma rifles b/c the resistance captured the technology and modified it. All in all, SkyNet/Legion/next ai should've had all the advantages, but despite how dreary the future is, humans DO win at the end. Besides the standard "plot armor", humans were shown to be proficient in adapting

there has to be some kind of "reasonable" argument that humans can fight against AI technology..

reply

No. It's ridiculous.

In T3 we see the aircraft is designed by humans. So if we can use that as any reference; when the Legion AI takes over, human military equipment looks more or less what we see.

And if so, it is the other way around; the AI adapt so they can operate our equipment.

There is a lot to consider with general artificial intelligence.
To solve a problem first it has to come to the consciousness of the AI.
Just because an AI is brilliant has can do so many parallel operations in
a second and have millions of terabytes of memory and access to all the
data in the world - computationally it still has to be creative and think to
solve problems. It has to understand that something is a problem, and
then consider the factors that contribute to it. It has to search its
understanding and stop and consider everything it knows, and it may be
that it misses certain ideas. AI does not man perfect by far.

A good analogy is something like computer chess, or better yet computer
backgammon - with dice. Dealing with probability is an art, and even partially
luck. It could have just pulled up human designs and used them, and in
fact introducing that aspect into the Terminator movies in an intelligent
way might make these movies a lot better. This particular one could have
hardly been worse.
