Carl has a pet dog

Dogs don't freak out and bark at him like they do other Terminators.

reply

I can only imagine it was because he found some form of humanity... dunno..

strange movie, had some decent throwbacks if not overly cliched, but ultimately the plot holes left more holes in the movie than the hybrid terminator at the end, whoa appeared to be disintegrating..

reply

Should have named him Wolfie.

reply

That would have been a splendid callback, but this is a different terminator than the one in T2, so it wouldn't have made much sense.

reply

Well think about. The dog in T2 is not named Wolfie. That's the name the Terminator picked. Maybe Wolfie is a default name a Terminator would use.

reply

hmm , in which case the T1000 would know that too .. in which case he'd know he was being tested ...

reply

no John asked if Wolfie is ok. and the lady answered Wolfie is just fine. the Real one would of known the dogs name was not wolfie

reply

Perhaps he had him since he was a pup and didn't know any better

reply

That particular dog has had years to develop a trust and familiarity with him though. It'd probably still bark if the Rev-9 showed up.

reply

That's what I took away from it. Maybe it barked at Carl when first introduced, but over time it warmed up to him especially after watching him interact with other humans.

reply

Some dogs are dumb.

reply

Presumably acquired the dog when it was a puppy and it's simply socialized to him, despite the dog's being able to sense something different about him.
