At least the Terminator theme music is GREAT in EVERY movie!

We give the Terminator franchise a lot of crap for having producing nothing but garbage after T2, so let's give credit where credit is due. Despite the last four movies being overall awful, they did manage to get ONE thing right: the iconic Brad Fiedel 'Terminator' theme.

It's done really well in all four crapfests. Terminator 3 has a more fast paced, badass version of the song that ups the stakes after Terminator 2. Terminator: Salvation has a darker, brutal version of the theme that works perfectly for the "future war" setting of the movie (too bad the REST of the movie couldn't do that!) Terminator: Genisys does a souped up rendition of the Terminator 2 version of the theme, which is really kickass and would make you think its a good movie and a worthy followup to T2 if the only thing you heard was the theme music. Terminator: Dark Fate has a very nice, hard-hitting rendition of Brad Fiedel's theme that is a very good tribute. I'm surprised "Junkie XL" did the score because most of his soundtracks have been garbage, but I have to give credit where credit is due, it was a nice tribute to Fiedel's work.

And let's not take that for granted, since many franchises HAVE screwed up the theme music in later installments. Remember Fall Out Boy's crappy version of the "Ghostbusters" theme (which was even more damning by the fact another band recorded a GOOD version of theme song, which was on the soundtrack but NOT used for the title scene of the movie itself!) and the Robocop remake heavily truncated the classic Basil Poledouris Robocop theme, and so on.

Too bad the composers can't direct movies or write scripts, they're pretty much the only talent that proved to be a worthy successor to the Terminator legacy.

Totally agree. That opening DUM-DUM-DUM-DA-DUM is iconic.

I have a full 30 minute playlist of the theme done in various tempos, different instruments and in different styles as one of my workout soundtracks.

This guy does an acoustic guitar version that slows it down, giving it a mournful feel. When I heard this version I thought it would make an excellent track for a Western.

err... no. that big orchestral generic action blockbuster music stuff subsequent composers came up with, doesn't feel like it belongs to a terminator film to me.

Agreed.
