A warning sign for Avatar sequels?

Much in the same way that Star Wars: The Special Editions were a warning sign for what was to come with George Lucas and his Star Wars prequels? Should we expect more bland storytelling and laughably bad SJW inserts? First Jai Courtney’s character becomes an alien and explains it’s much better than being white. Will he get a sex change and exclaim how much better being a woman is? Should we be scared of what will happen to James Cameron’s future projects based on what we’ve seen from Terminator: Dark Fate?

Wrong board. The Avatar board is that way ===>

How is this the wrong board???? Lmao you didn’t know James Cameron wrote and produced this movie??? Moron

reply

Of course I knew that, if you want to talk Avatar, go to the appropriate board ===>

reply

I don’t want to talk about Avatar, I want to talk about if this film is a warning sign for future Cameron projects. Not so hard to understand.

What are you still doing here? Go to the Avatar board ===>

I’m guessing you’re one of Maul’s alts? Cute.

I strongly suspect the Avatar sequels will suck, but to be fair you're comparing apples to oranges.

George Lucas had total creative control over the "Special Edition" re-releases of the original trilogy AND of the prequel trilogy, and he WANTED to do both. He micromanaged every aspect of both.

Cameron was done with the Terminator series after T2 and his only "interest" in the endless sequels after that was putting his name on those movies for marketing purposes. They wanted you to think T6 was Cameron's baby so they could "sell" audiences on it, but he was never on set a single day and his "involvement" was reading a couple scripts and sending back notes for revision suggestions (who knows if they actually added what he wanted?), arguing with Tim Miller over the phone, getting $$$ to be credited as "Executive Producer", and doing shameless promo videos claiming the last two crapfest movies were "the REAL Terminator 3"

reply

That is not true, from what I've read. It seems he was never on set, that's correct, but he was actively involved in the editing.

i think the first avatar movie was "warning sign" enough for avatar sequels.
while it may not be a bad movie, avatar certainly didn't scream for sequels...

reply

LOL indeed.

It is, at best, not a bad movie. I was okay with seeing it once, but I've never desired to rewatch and I feel no need for any sequels

It's unfortunate that Cameron decided that endless Avatar movies was the way he wanted to spend the final years of his career.

reply

Possibly. The real question is whether people will care enough to even see the second one.

reply

Big warning sign imo, i have little intreasted in the sequels.

reply

Def, way to long to wait for a sequel, I wouldnt be surprised if this didnt flop real hard.

ha - the first avatar was a warning sign for the future avatar sequels. The story was a rip-off of other film stories. In other words, creativity in writing was already lacking - I can only imagine how crappy the stories will be in the future films. I imagine they will be like Ridley Scott Alien sequels - visually stunning, but everything else will be utter crap.
I dunno about sjw inserts though - I suspect it will be more of 'humans are bad, nature and blue people are good' - like the first film.
