Won't bother with it...

I haven't seen this one and don't intend to. If it pops up on some streaming service, I might give it a go.

Just my pair of pennies, but for me the two big reasons are:

i. This story that has been done to death, i.e. killer robots from the future. Ugh. Give it a rest. They should have stuck with the Salvation storyline and not been so quick to drop it. I thought I was in the minority liking Salvation all these years. Suddenly lots of people are singing its praises for taking a new direction with the story, even if the movie itself under performed.

Interestingly, Internet spoilers ruined the original ending for Salvation where John Connor would end up a cyborg himself. Thanks for nothing Internet! Instead the script was tweaked to make it Worthington's character. John Connor as Terminator was instead saved for the terrible GeniSys... still didn't save THAT movie since everything about it stank.

And speaking of Internet spoilers...

ii. Killing off John Connor almost immediately. I learned of this thanks to assorted d-bag reviewers and commentators who posted about this plot point for DF without giving the "spoiler alert" warning. Thanks for nothing Internet!

The three way relationship between John, his mother and the T-800 was the heart and soul of T2. They should have continued that story, if they were determined to 're-do' T2.

If they intended to off the character, they could have at least done it at the conclusion of this movie in such a way as to give it some significance to the story moving forward.

I'll show myself out.
