What are the things that you wondered, noticed, or questioned in this movie?

My List:
1. Tencent creeping more and more into Hollywood (South Park episode should tell you why that should be a concern in the near future as they invest more and more money to influence what can be put into a western movie). Funny thing is, there is no restriction to Chinese movies where they need to put some American into their movies or whatnot.

2. So right after the bat with 2 cannon movies and several alternate timeline/universes with John Connor, they immediately kill him off after Cyberdyne ceased to exist... yet somehow Legion takes its place? If the AI was that advanced and able to evolve or duplicate to change itself, what's the point of the franchise? Sarah did say 'humans never learn' which leads me to believe that even though Cyberdyne ceased to exist, humans still strived to make some all powerful AI to do everything (which is what's happening in reality as we know it). This means no matter what, Dani is bound to be killed eventually anyway. No amount of preparing can prepare her for what happened to John as long as they keep sending back some Terminator, especially one last one after Legion gets destroyed.

3. You can tell Grace is a tomboy or androgynous after growing up and cutting her hair. You can see that she only goes after the men's clothes and not the woman's.

4. Rev-9 reminds me of Noob Saibot from Mortal Kombat. Sadly the Rev-9 doesn't use much of his doppelganger to full effect to dodge certain shit or use as a decoy or pincer move. The Rev-9 sent back in time also didn't have or use the liquid tentacles from Grace's time.

5. Grace is only augmented, meaning she only has heightened human abilities (most likely as strong as the strongest man on Earth and ability to slow down time like a spider sense), which shouldn't even be remotely comparable to a Rev-9 AI yet she was able to match the machine hand to hand and beat/incapacitate it in every encounter except the final one. Heck, even T-800 had a hard time handling it and even had his arm partially ripped off after the first few encounters... such bs. Let's not forget that she's more or less almost always in a weakened state where she needs constant special fluids to keep her in some stable condition while the Rev-9 did not.

6. "What are you doing?"... "Future shit" such lazy writing, they're not even trying anymore.

7. "I wish it weren't so crowded here"... "Well I wish you two weren't so white" yeah... as if that had any limitation on them still being able to board on the train.

8. Trump's right, we need those new walls stat! The new ones that have wires in them to detect movement or tampering.

9. Grace is always able to detect when Rev-9 is nearby or approaching like a sixth sense... another such bs thing. With all her latent abilities, you'd think they would've won the war already in her time along with anyone else that got augmented also.

10. Why does Sarah Connor speak in Espanol to the Border Patrol when they clearly know English? Wouldn't change their thinking in any case if she were American and illegally crossing the border. Would still have to get sorted after getting caught as the most dangerous criminals.

11. All those mysterious deaths, explosions, sightings and yet no one wonders, "hey, lets check the cams and put out an APB on this persons face that always shows up when people are dead"

12. "Where'd they take the new prisoners?"... "They're called detainees" *smack* That showed her to be PC about it.

13. Rev-9 is able to generate blades and shit... why couldn't he have made one to throw at the escaping helicopter at the Border Patrol compound?

14. "I thought, they couldn't find him, if they didn't know what he looked like." Wha?... Sarah did nothing to change what John looked like. He looked exactly the same as he did after T2 at the beginning of this movie before he was killed...

15. Carl's mutual fake wife looks sorta like the maid Arnold banged in real life...

16. How does the T-800 get future info on where a terminator is suppose to portal in when there is no Cyberdyne to access? I am guessing Dani is the one giving Carl these coordinates to give to Sarah and a hint to Grace hence the tattoo on her lower right abdomen. Everything was already pre-planned to save Dani yet they couldn't save John...

17. Carl is right, 74% chance that human civilization will collapse into barbarism. You'd only have to look at Extinction Rebellion videos...

18. Dani being able to handle the recoil of a shotgun right after Sarah tells her that her whole family is dead...

19. Still got one working F-35 yet it doesn't go shoot down the refueling tanker (KC-10) that crashed into the other F-35...

20. "You are not the mother of some man who saves the future, you are the future" The future is female... Like Star Wars and other established macho franchises.

actually carl said in the movie, whenever someone does time travel, there's a shockwave through time measurable before the event. and he can somehow sense it.
it begs a lot of other questions though. also, how is carl connected to grace? why does grace have carl's coordinates tatooed? he's a terminator "from a future that never happened", so why would someone (supposedly dani) in the legion future tatoo his coordinates onto grace?

The logic in these movies falls apart as SOON as you start thinking about it, but this one small part is easily answered: "Future" Dani, having lived through this experience, knows the coordinates & tattoos them onto Grace. So that they can find Arnold, and he can help them. Simple.

Should Arnold still exist? Of course not. But every single Terminator movie has casually tortured the laws of causality, so you can hardly fault this entry for doing the same.

I wonder how Dani became who she is if she thinks she's a nobody. Something must've traumatized her to the point where she somehow mastered the ability to lead a resistance... heck, she still thought her papi was really her papi when shotgunned by Grace which showed him as a robot.

some things i wondered when watching the movie:

- did the writers think the identity reveal of the "mysterious person who sends text messages to sarah" would be a surprise for the audience? (i mean, arnold was the only main character left, so it was more than obvious it's going to be him)
- was the scene with grace cutting the fly inspired by karate kid?
- when sarah said "i was her" referring to dani, did anyone actually think she means "i was also a mother of the saviour of mankind"? i just thought she simply meant "i was her" as in "i have also been hunted by a terminator once [for whatever reason]", without the implication that the rev-9 is after dani "because of her womb".

Yes, Dani mentions it when Grace and Sarah are to board a train to meet smugglers that would take them across the US border.

Sarah Connor is pregnant at the end of T1 with John Connor. At some point after that, she decides to "go off the grid" because she's afraid new Terminators might be sent back to hunt her down - she also decides not to take any pictures of her son (and probably herself) because she thinks that will mean less information available to the machines in the future trying to hunt her in the present. That is why she has no pictures of him and she is explaining that in this scene. I thought it made sense.

Hmm, I see the point now and why she is forgetting his face. I thought it had to do with the fact that even after the facts you mentioned above, they still managed to find them anyway in T2 so one would think she'd have to change everything about their lifestyle and look be it cosmetic surgery or just outright not going out at all. In the end, they assumed once they stopped a rogue AI, it'll all be rainbow and sunshine, not knowing the AI is far superior in survival/adaptation or another mad scientist made AI yet is having difficulty finding the remnants of human resistance. You'd think by now in the future they'd have scanners that can see through walls...

Not sure if these are the actual new walls or just replacement walls of existing fences or aging walls. By actual new walls I mean just sawing into them would trigger a sensor warning to whomever is monitoring the fences via UAV or other and they'd know these people having been sawing into them. This in turn would alert Border Patrol to send units out to that sector.
