Screenings are under way, its a solid flick! ( spoilers )

But not everyone liked it. Skynet it replaced with a new system. Alternate futures, John Conner is no longer the resistance leader in the future. Many had issued with the GCI and the REV-9. Many felt it lacked the heart that T2 had, that it was a much weaker film. That it did not feel like a terminator movie. Some had issues with the strong female leads but liked Mackenzie Davis very much ( she did a great job btw ) many sequenced still lacks CGI. The movie is still in post production.

As strange as it is, it’s happened before. The Thing 2011 was finished 10 days before premiering in theaters.

Tom, the film is not complete as its missing facial GCI and terminator ( REV-9 ) GCI. Say 95% complete. This is a heavily CGI made film. The release date is set by the studio and not the production crew.

I liked it as a popcorn flick. Its a tad similar to the latest T films but better. Its not a Cameron film, its less than that. Anyone else here from the Orange County screening ?

A "solid action flick" is not enough for a Terminator franchise. Even after 3 bad sequels the fans still hope for a revival that is comparable to the first two especially after Cameron returned.

I agree, the last 3 x Terminators felt generic. Films that will not stand the test of time like T1 & T2. Terminator: Dark Fate is a better film than the previous 3, its popcorn, its fun but this time next year nobody will be talking about this film unfortunately.
Subjectively, Gabriel Luna was miscast.

I still can't believe T3 got 70% on RottenTomatoes. It's a total crapper except the ending and Kristanna Loken's ass.

I agree. They could have gone with a more "badass" or "evil" looking Hispanic than him. There are plenty of them.
