The Plot

what we didn't know in t1-2 is that skynet had sent another t-800 back in time, as a backup/sleeper. so after the events in t2, when sarah and john thought skynet was prevented and they were save, the sleeper t-800 becomes active and catches john off-guard. john gets terminated, but sarah manages to survive and can even catch and re-program the t-800.
sarah knows that as john doesn't exist anymore, someone else will have to become the human resistance leader in the future and she regards it as her mission to train that person, like she had been training her son.
in mexico, two characters from the future arrive: a t-800/t-1000 mixture which mission it is to hunt and terminate a young woman called dani ramos. the other character is a cyborg called grace, sent to protect dani. sarah takes notice of this and sets out to protect and train dani (the supposed new future resistance leader), accompanied by her helper, the re-programmed t-800, as well as grace. after a big hunt throughout mexico involving helicopters, the showdown will take place at a dam, involving some spectacular underwater actions scenes.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

reply

Why would Sarah re-program it though and how. It doesn't make sense.

reply

why? because a good protector terminator is obviously more useful to sarah than a terminator who tries to kill her and all other skynet opponents. in the same way, arnold's terminator in t2 was re-programmed as a protector and sent back in time.
how? you can access the control unit of a t-800, it was shown in the deleted scene of terminator 2.

So the whole second film was a waste of time and they just want to rehash everything again but with different genders?

reply

White man can longer be the hero, it must be non-white woman!

So... it's like a recent remake of 'Ghostbusters' then...

reply

Sounds very unoriginal. I'm not impressed by anything I saw up until now, it looks like another cash grab.

reply

THE FUTURE IS FEMALE!

NO WHITE MAN HERO, ONLY BAD GUY!!!

reply

what "future" are you talking about? sarah connor has been the hero of the first two films. and you can always watch terminator 3 rise of the machines, if a female (looking) antagonist makes you happy...

reply

The bad guy looks Mexican to me. Also, android's gender is kind of a tricky question ;)

reply

The trailer makes thine seem female.

reply

So the Terminator kills her son and instead of destroying it she just re-programs it?

These sequels are getting worse and worse! Jeez

reply

But that's today's political agenda: instead of killing your enemies you treat them with kindness and educate (re-program) them )

That being said... I'm also kinda perplexed by the plot.

reply

the t-800 in t2 was also a re-programmed killer machine. a terminator is basically just a weapon. if you can use such a weapon to help defend yourself - why would you just throw it away? sarah realized this in the deleted scene from t2 (inlcuded in the director's cut) where she was about to destroy arnold, but eventually stopped herself from doing so.

reply

Its just another pointless sequel, the story has been told via T1 and T2, just no need for these films , just like the predator movies

reply

I'm good with 1-4.

I know, I know...
