What is "Black" about this Adam?

The Egyptians were Semitic like the Jews and Arabs, not black.

And how is this movie like "Black Panther"? It would seem a similar movie might be "Cleopatra" if it's about an ancient Egyptian.

I'm not surprised that a Dwayne Johnson movie would be built on an idiotic premise. But really?

You're not funny.

reply

How was he trying to be funny? The character is Egyptian.

reply

I haven't seen the movie of course because I always steer clear of anything involving the so-called "Rock". He's a vacuous lightweight, like a Styrofoam boulder they use on a movie set.

But I know Afrocentrists claim the ancient Egyptians were black. I'm curious if they're pushing that failed notion in this film.

Dwayne Johnson is only half black and doesn’t look it. He could pass as an Arabic character and in fact, this is not the first time he’s played an Egyptian.

That said, Black Adam is a comic character dating back to the early 40s. He was drawn with paler skin but more goblin-like features. I’m not sure what “black” referred to other than his costume.

I guess this new shtick started with "Black Panther" As if. Yeah, the studios are trying to convince black kids that Nordic mythology is somehow relevant to their lives. So far African-Americans are buying the scam.

You're an idiot.
