My problem was the shitty country I was meant to care about

Fake, middle eastern country apparently suppressed by mercenaries and white border control officers. Tell me why I should care?

reply

Oh you are just not diverse and inclusive of equality enough. ;)

Actually, I just saw it with someone who pretty much said that exact same thing 20 minutes into the film. They literally asked why should I care??? I didn't have an answer and said to just enjoy it as an empty popcorn action flick.

reply

The fate of the world!!! Oh wait. The fate of the fictional country is at stake!

reply

"empty popcorn action flick"
I try to avoid those like the PLAGUE these days, I don't have time to waste with them.

reply

Its not a good movie!

reply

Empathy?

reply

... for.... ???
Just whomever?
Random fictional country?
Should they make the characters and their plight 'relatable' some how?

reply

It's a fucking comic book movies. There's no dimensionality.

reply

so... nothing to bother empathizing with. got it.

reply

The biggest problem for me was the Villian, who just hangs around till he gets the crown. He is absolutely a nothing until then.

reply

That's a good point.

reply

There was no villain. Or rather the villain was there for Adam's redemption ark, just a placeholder, could had been anything.

reply

Same could be said for Black Panther tbh

reply

Because you're usually supposed to care with the oppressed people in a movie. It doesn't take much to suspend your disbelief with that.

reply

LOL they kept reusing the same intersection sets. Looked terrible.

reply

I assume you mean Israel, which means you're a Nazi who support the terrorists.

reply

I dont think the country was to portray Israel despite Bodhi Sabongui being Ashkenazi Jewish.
