McKellar shines in spite of poor script (major spoilers)

I enjoyed this movie, because Danica McKellar makes anything worth watching. The script was admittedly poor with so many "Huh?" moments. I knew it was Sylvie from the very beginning. She had been in Julie's room and had many opportunities to frame her, but this only occurred to the mom at the very end-ridiculous! It should have been the first person they suspected.
The high school boy falsely confessing to the murder was also absurd, and Ben the boyfriend is a weak actor and should be replaced if there are going to be more in this series. I would watch because of McKellar.

I haven't seen this one yet, but it would be the first time since "The Wonder Years" where I'd find McKellar a decent actress, lol. When she went on to be a brainiac mathlete in college, I has hoped she'd give up acting for good! Then again, she is giving us this series, and fhat alone, is a gift. LOL

Ben (Jonathan Bennett) used to be pretty good, and his career looked like it was on the rise, but alas, it was not meant to be. If I was told a decade ago that Winnie Cooper, Urkel, and "the cute guy" from "Mean Girls" would be in a Lifetime movie whodunit, thriller series, I'd have thought the person was smoking something heavy duty!

Apparently the OP was watching through rose colored glasses. Danica was just not good in this. She should have stuck to mathematics because acting just isn't where she belongs. It was bad!! The entire movie was bad. Even Norm from Cheers was in the movie...his role was out of place and didn't fit the rest of the movie. Urkel as the detective playing the bad cop was horrible. Jonathon Bennett was decent although he kind of came across as gay even though he was 'still in love' with Winnie. The daughter was pretty good as well as her best friend and her boyfriend. Even the judge who played the cherry pit spitting woman in the Witches of Eastwick was bad. I really wanted to like this movie but it was just too painful.

Have you seen "The Wrong Woman," the first film in this series? I don't know yet if this second film makes it clear it had a predecessor, and some are posting in a way that suggests they don't know of the first film.

Seeing the first one tells me this will be fantastically awful as well as Danica's acting. I'll never forget how my mother would always snigger at her bad acting during "The Wonder Years." It started off fine, but as the case with many child actors, she lost whatever worked early on and got spotty in quality.

Poor Bennett. I have wondered if being gay (but not officially out) hurt his career. When I first saw him in a 2001 or 2002 "Law and Order: SVU" episode, I thought, "this guy is pretty good. Then "Mean Girls." Then not much after that. Maybe it was the common trajectory for many teen heartthrobs. Maybe it was his sexual orientation. Not sure. Urkel's presence makes me "lol." Norm makes me kind of sad in a weird way. (I never want to see a respectable actor made famous from a respectable show go this route I guess. It is unseemly.)

Danica has made some pretty good movies on the Hallmark channel, yeah some are Christmas movies and others are about "finding love" type movies, but her acting isn't bad at all. There are even some Lifetime movies she made that weren't so bad, I like the one titled "Love at the Christmas Table" (2012), it was a great little movie about finding love w/your best friend and Danica did a wonderful job. She also played in those "True life story movies", and she didn't bad in those either. She may not be "knocking it out the park" and getting awards but I think she enjoys acting and she's also a BRILLIANT mathematician as well. So good for her if she wants to continue acting, I'll watch her movies. Jonathan Bennett bless his heart is openly gay in real life (which I say good for him coming out). I just don't think he should play a leading love interest w/the opposite sex because sometimes you can tell he's gay but there are other leading men actors who are gay but you can't tell but w/Bennett he would be better playing the sidekick of the leading man NOT the leading man - no offense, b/c he's really a nice guy and decent actor (when not playing a "man in love w/a woman").

The daughter was such a piss poor actress and character making her the killer would have made her likeable! 😄
