Could the producer have at least made it a believable match?

The Russian was so much larger that this was beyond believable... was also unbelievable that a ref wouldn't have stopped the fight when it was clear Creed's ability to defend himself had happened. When he grabs his side the Russian would have kept hitting him not just given time for a dramatic pause as he clutches his ribs to show the world he's had them broken.

Part of the reason I didn't like this one as much. Under non circumstances did I realistically believe that Creed could beat the Russian

Sadly it has been a common problem in a lot of the Rocky movies. I mean how many heavy weight champion have there ever been in modern times that were 5 foot 10 like Carl Weather or Mr. T? I think the only one I can think of was Mike Tyson who was maybe 5 10 or maybe 5 11 depending on the source... And he was pretty much an outlier to where heavy weight are size wise. The whole franchise sadly became a Sylvester Stallone fantasy franchise with the short Stallone constantly winning against the bigger guys... which was beyond laughable when he beats Dolph... I mean that was the most ridiculous of all the movies.

That is very true sir. However the charm of the original franchise is that it's so easy to get behind Stallone's underdog character, that it's easy to suspend disbelief when he defeats Drago (as unrealistic as it is). However as much as I do like Michael B Jordan, I never got half as invested in Adonis as I did in Rocky which is why it made it harder to believe his triumph.

That's true. And of course the fact that Stallone normally got actors that were going against his character that were also short like Weathers and Mr. T... then again when you think about it, most Hollywood actors are little short guys which is probably why so many actresses appear to be tall... they are only tall when your only frame of reference is them standing by short actors.

That's true. Stallone was maybe a 5'9 heavyweight champion.
