If it wasn't OJ

And it was Jason- why would OJ go through all he did? To protect his son? Please. As narcissistic as OJ is/was would anyone believe he would cover up for his kid as risk his own future/reputation?

reply

Exactly. The narcissism/selfishness we saw in O.J. Made in America showed what he was truly like when he retreated to Florida. I don't think he really cared that much about Jason. If in fact Jason IS the author of that diary, it shows that he wasn't that crazy about his Dad. And, it sounds like the feeling was mutual - in the deposition, Jason points out that his dad wasn't there for him a lot of the time. OK, he had a busy schedule, but not THAT busy. He was still going to have a date with a Playboy centerfold and also called a lingerie model the night of the murder - so he had time for them.

So he has a bad relationship with his son, who questions even going on living - and he covers up for his son? Stupid. He didn't have to cover up for his son because his son had nothing to do with it.

Finally, I'd add this - what would a jury think of a guy who tried to throw his son under the bus? Imagine if that was their defense - our client didn't do it, but his son did, and then they presented the evidence from this show. Imagine how that makes O.J. look to the jurors? And to the public??

Maybe, it was an accident and OJ felt guilty because he wasn't there in the past for Jason. Parents will do anything for their children. I'm not saying it happened that way but its a possibility.

You're just thinking of normal parents, not sociopaths. You think EVERY parent will do anything for their kids? There are parents who resent their kids, hate them, heck, some even kill them out of selfishness (think of Susan Smith). Maybe his kids begged him to stop beating Nicole to a pulp - did he do THAT for them? No...so you need to stop generalizing and saying parents will do anything for their children. It's simply not true in all cases, and I think it's pretty clear that's not the case here.

I truly believe my husband would throw himself in front of a bus for his two sons. I asked him if he'd cover up a murder for them and he was real quick to say "hell no!"

reply

Not sure how that can ever be considered an accident?
"Oops. I didn't mean to stab Ron Goldman 30 times"

I sure-if OJ has ANY type of conscience- he should feel guilty for his bad parenting. But I can't believe it would take him to this point. No way in hell I'd cover up for a grown child while those babies of his see him on trial for killing their mother

How could butchering two people be considered an accident?

Jason's albi does, in fact, check out (timecard & witnesses)...just as the show finally admitted in the last minutes. The entire show was based on a flawed premise that was posited by conspiracy wackjob Bill Dear.

@ lulupalooza
I'm NOT saying the kid did anything, but...a time card is not really proof of much of anything, especially when one of the owners of the place said the kid was out of the building working a BBQ with someone else.

If Jason was involved, he probably didn't know he was involved...
