Anyone else disappointed in ID Network?

I know I am. Obviously, they make money off the crimes and pain of victims but this was extremely unprofessional and unethical.

I'd rather have watched a show about that serial killer that claimed he killed Nicole and Ron after OJ told him too...

This was just a whole lotta hype and a whole lotta nothing.

I am. I am an "ID addict" and I love the real, true cold-case and other unsolved murders and how they find the culprit doing re-enactments plus interviewing the real people. I love that channel. But not this..... :(

Wait! Wait! Where are you going? I was gonna make Espresso!

reply

I'm surprised that they "went there" with such a show...could have done so many things but they green lighted this. Wow.

I know! Anything else would've been better!

I'm a little disappointed. I don't know what is wrong with Bill Dear, but he doesn't seem very rational for a private investigator.

reply

I am! And the fact that they are dragging it out puts a bad taste in my mouth.

reply

And after dragging it out they're ramming it down our throats....was on this morning. Prob. be on again in the next couple days....like it was some sorta groundbreaking show.

What next..."Is John Wayne Gacy Innocent?"

reply

This show was disgraceful. I created an account on here just to say so. Completely ridiculous to put the victims and family through this to make such an inflammatory show. Even accusing Jason Simpson. Come on. How can you accuse someone of murder and put that on tv with no proof. He should sue them.

And leave the families alone! ID you have ZERO shame.

reply

I'm with you. I was one of the original 4 posts on this board - begging ppl NOT to watch it - because the families have had it thrown in their faces long enough. I could simply not imagine permenantly damaging 1 more person behind all of this...but here we are. How will this young man feel now - EVERY time he opens his front door? Safe? Free? Was he intended to be allowed to live a productive life after this? Could ANY 1 of us stand up to a thorough public laundering from the time we were a puberty stricken kid - IN AN ABUSIVE HOME- BEING VICTIMIZED??? If not, what right do we have to judge???

Regardless, my original post was removed. I must have stepped on someone. I will repeat my previous posts question however, Haven't these families suffered enough behind this tragedy? Is it REALLY necessary for us, as a society, to demand to know "everything" about "everything" so much, that we sell our humanity, and continually revictimize grieving families and victims en masse? Please think how you would want to be treated if Rin were your Son/brother and Nicole were your Daughter/Sister. Find your humanity again.

Yes. It looks like ID is heading down the same road that TLC did, hopefully not, but this "documentary" doesn't bode well. Remember when TLC was "The Learning Channel?" It wasn't the subject matter -- O.J.: Made in America, a phenomenal documentary, was just nominated for an Oscar -- it was the presentation, the premise, Touré (FFS), carting out Kato Kaelin and worst of all, basing it on Bill Dear's theory. Ugh, just horrible.

UNBELIEVABLE!! Complete character assassination!!

I can't understand why they would agree to air this cruel, ridiculous "documentary" 😮😮.

How do they look themselves in the mirror? This show was a complete insult to an already suffering family (s) but also to the publics' intelligence. Have we really come to this?? Do people actually get off on watching an innocent person get raked over the coals?? Their theories, investigative techniques, tactics and editing were a JOKE. I was screaming at my screen the whole time. What a bunch of hacks. What a complete DISAPPOINTMENT for the ID Network. They should truly be ashamed and yes, Jason Simpson should sue them. Not only that but people shouldn't stand for this kind of media. I hope the ID Network feels serious repercussions for this. I'm disgusted.

I think that the show basically reinforced the idea that OJ acted alone...

And the show also created a lot of sympathy for Jason, not only because of the nature of his father's behavior, but also the incredible accusations and innuendo being lobbed at Jason by this insufferable creep Bill Dear...

A lot of folks seem to think Jason ought to sue ID/Dear for damages, but in the end it would be another huge media circus that I am sure Jason would truly rather avoid... Anyway, in the end, they pretty much concluded he did nothing wrong...

What in the world was ID thinking when this garbage was presented as a program ?

I haven't watched it, and won't, given the feedback here, and knowing what I already know about William Dear.

It would be justice if Jason Simpson sued Dear, and won, and he certainly would deserve it. But I also understand why he wouldn't. While it'd be satisfying if Jason sued and won, in truth it would only put him, and his family, and Dear, into the limelight once again, for no gain.

I don't doubt that Jason has a host of problems of his own, but to put Nicole and Ron's death at his feet is absurd, when it was quite obviously his narcissistic father who killed them.

reply

This network has gone downhill fast. I don't think anyone credible actually buys that Jason Simpson committed the crimes because Nicole decided to go to another restaurant that night. Give me a break, seriously.

reply

I don't have ID and hadn't even heard of it until recently. But I certainly agree no one credible buys Jason killed Nicole -- and Ron -- at all, let alone because he was furious she called off the dinner. She'd called him in advance to tell him they wouldn't be coming, and Jason knowing all too well the situation between Nicole and OJ, would have known things had deteriorated between them, and hardly been surprised at her change of plans and resentful of her for it.

Jason had a troubled and volatile relationship with his father, and a pretty good relationship with Nicole, where often enough he'd drop by Nicole's unannounced and they'd hang out together.

This whole thing is a fame and money-grab by Dear, and if he has any ounce of integrity, he should be ashamed of himself.
