Nicole's watch

This crazy bill dear's theory is based in part around the time on Nicole's watch. it stopped at 9:58. First of all there are several reasons for how that could've happened. .. its ridiculous. If anything he is DISPROVING his own conclusions .... . simpson is LAST SEEN at 9:36 pm. (after returning from McDonalds with Kato) Rockingham is 2 MINUTE DRIVE to Bundy. Nicole talks to her mom at 9:42 ( for the last time) - their convo lasted about 2 mins. Ron leaves work at 9:50 ( went home to shower). ALL evidence PROVES that Nicole was unconscious and bleeding out when Ron showed up. ( as his shoeprints as well as fabric from his shirt was in her blood. It clearly shows that simpson had MORE THAN ENOUGH time to kill both of them. the watch theory just shows that Nicole was earlier ( thus giving him MORE time to fight with Ron.:( ) Kato ( the dog) barks at 10:15.. AT THE END OF THE MURDERS:(

The watch theory was disproven when the LAPD guy said that picture was taken in the morgue at 9:59 a.m. Not 9:59 p.m. the night before and that the watch was operable. So Bill Dear's theory doesn't hold water.

I'm so glad you commented on this. The attack on Nicole probably wouldn't cause her watch to break. It makes sense to me that the watch was still running, and that the photograph was taken at 9:59 AM the following morning.

What I don't understand is why Kris and Derrick are putting so much effort into figuring out how/why Jason would leave work at 9:30 (just a guess), drive to his girlfriend's, then drive to Nicole's, and kill her at 9:59? The entire premise is faulty, therefore, the point is moot. Not to mention that you would have to make the drive on a Sunday evening, not on a weekday afternoon in heavy traffic.

If Jason is a viable suspect, then let's see the evidence. But this is just silly.

Small question in reference to the watch.

I believe the explanation Lange gave, but let's say it was broken at 9:59 pm.

Does OJ have an alibi for that time? Does the watch mean he couldn't have committed the murder?

I completely agree with Lange as well. Nicole's watch stopped at 9:59 AM.
No, simpson DID NOT have an alibi for 9:36-10:45pm the night of the murders

reply

Nicole's sister said the watch was broken when she got it. So did it break during the autopsy? Because Lange says it's working before/during the autopsy.

That was the part of the episode that pissed me off the most - he has Nicole's sister right there saying she still has the watch and that it was broken, but he doesn't pursue with additional questions that might prove (or disprove) the theory that the watch stopped at the time of the murders. Either that, or those bits weren't aired. Either way, it was irresponsible of them to just gloss over it.
